If the configuration is incorrect, REFER to MODULE CONFIGURATION article. If the configuration for the PCM is correct, go to Pinpoint Test C .
The tachometer is inoperative	Instrument cluster	OBSERVE the PRNDL for Hybrid. If the PRNDL has boxes around the letters, go to Pinpoint Test D . If the PRNDL has no boxes around the letters, REFER to MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK article.
The low fuel warning indicator is never/always on	Instrument cluster	Go to Pinpoint Test E .
The door ajar indicator is inoperative (chime is operative)/does not operate correctly	Instrument cluster	CHECK the operation of the interior lamps. If the interior lamps operate correctly, INSTALL a new instrument cluster. REFER to Instrument Cluster . TEST the system for normal operation. If the interior lamps do not operate correctly, REFER to INTERIOR LIGHTING article.
The safety belt warning indicator is inoperative (chime is operative)/does not operate correctly	Instrument cluster	CHECK the operation of the safety belt warning chime. If the chime is operative, INSTALL a new instrument cluster. REFER to Instrument Cluster . TEST the system for normal operation. If the chime is inoperative, REFER to WARNING DEVICES article.
The check fuel cap indicator is never on	PCM Instrument cluster	Go to Pinpoint Test F .
The check fuel cap indicator is always on	PCM (Hybrid) Instrument cluster	CHECK for any DTCs. If DTCs are present, REFER to the appropriate DTC chart to continue diagnosis. If no DTCs are present, INSTALL a new instrument cluster. REFER to Instrument Cluster . TEST the system for normal operation.

The transmission range indicator does not operate correctly	PCM Instrument cluster	MONITOR the PCM transmission range PIDs while operating the transmission selector lever through all the transmission ranges. If the PIDs agree with the transmission ranges, INSTALL a new instrument cluster. REFER to Instrument Cluster . TEST the system for normal operation. If the PIDs do not agree with the transmission ranges, REFER to AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE/TRANSMISSION - CD4E article or AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE/TRANSMISSION - ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (ECVT) article.
