P1A08 - Generator Mode Signal

P1A08 - GENERATOR MODE SIGNAL

Description:  The transaxle control module (TCM) continuously monitors the controller area network (CAN) communication bus for a generator mode message from the powertrain control module (PCM). This DTC is set when the received message does not match the actual generator mode.
Possible Causes: 
  • Damaged PCM
  • Damaged TCM
Diagnostic Aids:  Monitor the GENMODE PID. The PID state ERROR indicates a hardware concern.
