  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING AND LIFTING article.
  2. Release the fuel system pressure. For additional information, refer to FUEL SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION - GASOLINE AND DIESEL article.
  3. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES article.


  1. Disconnect the fuel supply tube spring lock coupling at the fuel rail. For additional information, refer to FUEL SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION - GASOLINE AND DIESEL article.
  2. Disconnect the fuel vapor tube quick connect coupling at the evaporative emissions (EVAP) canister purge valve. For additional information, refer to FUEL SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION - GASOLINE AND DIESEL article.
  3. Disconnect the fuel supply tube and the fuel vapor tube from the position retainer at the rear of the engine.
  4. Disconnect the fuel supply tube quick connect coupling at the fuel filter inlet. For additional information, refer to FUEL SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION - GASOLINE AND DIESEL article.
  5. Disconnect the fuel supply tube quick connect coupling at the fuel filter outlet. For additional information, refer to FUEL SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION - GASOLINE AND DIESEL article.
  6. Disconnect the fuel supply tubes from the position retainers.
  7. Remove the fuel supply tubes.
  8. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
