Removal And Installation

  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES article.
  2. Disconnect the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) heater element tube quick connect coupling. For additional information, refer to FUEL SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION article.
  3. Disconnect the PCV heater element electrical connector.
  4. Remove the bolts and the PCV heater element. Remove and discard the O-ring seal.
    • To install, tighten to 6 N.m (53 lb-in).
  5. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
    • Install a new O-ring seal on the PCV heater element. Lubricate the O-ring seal with clean engine oil.
