Test Procedure

  1. AR1 PRELIMINARY DIAGNOSIS FOR DTC P0300 
    • Retrieve and record all DTCs.
    • Record the freeze frame data.
    • Clear all DTCs.
    • Carry out the continuous self-test.
    • Are any DTCs present? 
    Yes No
    For DTC P0300, GO to  AR2.
    For all others, REFER toDIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) CHARTS AND DESCRIPTIONS .    		 The misfire is intermittent and is currently not active. REFER to the SYMPTOM CHARTS article, Symptom Charts, if a driveability concern exists.
  2. AR2 DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) P0300 
    • Carry out a visual inspection. Check for loose connections, and damaged or corroded pins. Wiggle the harness, attempting to recreate the concern.
    • Are any wiring or terminal concerns present? 
    Yes No
    REPAIR as necessary. CLEAR the DTCs. CARRY OUT the OBD drive cycle. REFER toON BOARD DIAGNOSTIC (OBD) DRIVE CYCLE . REFER toPERFORMANCE DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURES .
    CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
