Clear The Continuous Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) And Reset The Emission Monitors Information in The Powertrain Control Module (PCM): Notes

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 7 other vehicles, including the 2007 Ford RV Cutaway, 2007 Ford Pickup, 2007 Ford F550 Super Duty, 2007 Ford F450 Super Duty, and 2007 Ford Econoline. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: Clear the continuous DTCs and reset the emission monitors information in the PCM was previously called PCM Reset Test.

The clearing of continuous DTCs allows the scan tool to command the PCM to clear/reset all emission-related diagnostic information. While carrying out this operation, DTC P1000 is stored in the PCM until all the OBD system monitors or components have been tested to satisfy a drive cycle without any other concerns occurring. For additional information about a drive cycle, refer to ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC (OBD) DRIVE CYCLE . Clearing the DTCs from the vehicle-specific continuous memory DTC menu clears all systems, including the OBD systems. Clearing the DTCs from the OBD generic menu only clears OBD features for the 6.0L diesel.
