Removal and Installation

NOTE:
Do not use oil or grease-based lubricants on the isolators. They may cause deterioration of the rubber.
NOTE:
Oil or grease-based lubricants on the isolators may cause the exhaust hanger isolator to separate from the exhaust hanger bracket during vehicle operation.
- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
- Support the muffler and tailpipe with a suitable jackstand.
- Support the catalytic converter with a suitable jackstand.
- Remove the Torca® clamp. For additional information, refer to TORCA® CLAMP .
- Using soapy water, separate the 4 or 5 muffler and tailpipe isolators from the vehicle.
- Separate the muffler and tailpipe from the catalytic converter and remove the muffler and tailpipe.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Inspect and replace any isolators damaged or torn during the removal process.
- Start the engine and check for exhaust leaks.
CAUTION:
Do not excessively bend, twist or allow the exhaust to hang from the flexible pipe.

Do not damage or tear the isolators during removal.
