Removal and Installation

- Remove the rear lamps. For additional information, refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION and REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Remove the 6 rear bumper cover screws in the wheel well.
- To install, tighten to 2 N.m (18 lb-in).
- From inside the luggage compartment, remove the luggage compartment trim panel.
- Remove the 3 rear bumper cover pin-type retainers on underside of beam.
- Remove the 6 rear bumper cover nuts.
- To install, tighten to 9 N.m (80 lb-in).
- If equipped, disconnect the rear parking aid electrical connector.
- Remove the rear bumper cover.
- Inspect the bumper cover mounting reinforcements for damage. If necessary, install new bumper cover mounting reinforcements before installation.
- Inspect the spacer block on center of beam for damage. If necessary, install a new spacer block before installation.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
NOTE:
The forward upper portion of the bumper cover must be pulled outward to unclip it from body.
