Torque Converter Operation Concern: Always Applied

TORQUE CONVERTER OPERATION CONCERN: ALWAYS APPLIED

241 - ROUTINE
Powertrain Control System	-
TCM, vehicle wiring harnesses, fluid pressure sensor, PC A, PCB, PCC, TCC, Clutch Actuator Solenoid	Carry out on-board diagnostic tests. Refer to INTRODUCTION - GASOLINE article for diagnosis and testing of the TCM. GO to PINPOINT TEST A , GO to PINPOINT TEST D and GO to PINPOINT TEST E . Repair as required. Clear DTCs, road test and rerun on-board diagnostic test.
Incorrect Pressures	-
High Pressure	Check pressure PIDs. If low, check main control valve body.
Mechatronic Assembly	-
Bolts out of torque specification	Check bolt specification.
PC solenoid B - damaged, not functioning	GO to PINPOINT TEST E .
Torque converter clutch seal - damaged	Inspect for damage. Repair as required.
Torque Converter Assembly	-
Torque Converter internal failure preventing disengagement, piston release.	Remove transmission. Inspect for damage. Refer to TORQUE CONVERTER . If the torque converter fails to pass the criteria or is damaged, install a new or remanufactured torque converter.
Torque converter clutch seal - damaged	Inspect for damage. Repair as required.
