Pinpoint Test U: The Electric Power Charge/Assist Gauge Is Inoperative

- U1 CARRY OUT THE ELECTRIC POWER CHARGE/ASSIST GAUGE SWEEP TEST
- Carry out the instrument cluster self-diagnostic test for the gauge sweep.
- Observe the electric power charge/assist gauge.
- Does the gauge sweep from the lowest point to the highest point and then set to the mid-point of the scale?
Yes : REFER to HIGH VOLTAGE TRACTION BATTERY to continue diagnosis of the TBCM. TEST the system for normal operation.
No : GO to U2.
- U2 CHECK FOR CORRECT INSTRUMENT CLUSTER OPERATION
- Disconnect the instrument cluster connector.
- Check for:
- corrosion
- pushed-out pins
- Connect the instrument cluster connector and make sure it seats correctly.
- Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.
- Is the concern still present?
Yes : INSTALL a new instrument cluster. REFER to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER in this article. TEST the system for normal operation.
No : The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector.
