Removal and Installation

NOTE:
An in-line thermostatic expansion valve (TXV) filter is installed in the auxiliary evaporator inlet line at the floorpan connection and may be installed separately from the line. A restriction in this filter may cause misdiagnosis of a failed battery zone valve or thermostatic expansion valve. This filter must be inspected before a new battery zone valve or thermostatic expansion valve is installed. For additional information, refer to THERMOSTATIC EXPANSION VALVE - FILTER .
NOTE:
Installation of a new suction accumulator is not required when repairing the air conditioning system, except when there is physical evidence of contamination from a failed A/C compressor or damage to the suction accumulator.
- Remove the auxiliary climate control housing. For additional information, refer to AUXILIARY CLIMATE CONTROL HOUSING .
- Remove the nut and the thermostatic expansion valve lower bracket.
- To install, tighten to 11 Nm (8 lb-ft).
- Remove the 2 bolts and the thermostatic expansion valve upper bracket.
- To install, tighten to 8 Nm (71 lb-in).
- Remove the thermostatic expansion valve.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Install new O-ring seals.
