Inspection and Verification

  1. Verify the customer concern by operating the daytime running lamps (DRL) following these steps:
    1. Place the ignition switch in the RUN position.
    2. Place the headlamp switch in the OFF position.
    3. Apply and hold the brake pedal.
    4. Place the transmission in any gear other than PARK.
    5. If the DRL does not operate, make sure the lighting control module (LCM) is configured for DRL before proceeding to the next step.
  2. Verify the high beam operation.
    • Place the headlamp switch in the HEADLAMPS ON position.
    • Place the multifunction switch in the HIGH BEAM position.
      • If the high beams do not operate correctly, refer to EXTERIOR LIGHTING to continue diagnosis of the high beam headlamps.
      • If the high beams operate correctly and the DRL operation is incorrect, install a new LCM. Refer to MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC MODULES . Test the system for normal operation.
