The message center display is blank	Instrument cluster	CARRY OUT the instrument cluster self-diagnostic test to illuminate all segments of the message center display. If the message center display is illuminated, the system is working correctly at this time. If the message center display is inoperative, INSTALL a new instrument cluster. REFER to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER .
The message center switch does not operate correctly	Circuitry Message center switch Instrument cluster	GO to PINPOINT TEST B .
The LOW WASHER FLUID LEVEL warning is incorrect	Circuitry Washer fluid reservoir Instrument cluster	GO to PINPOINT TEST C .
The DOOR AJAR warning is incorrect	Interior lamps Driver door module (DDM) Instrument cluster	GO to PINPOINT TEST D .
The TRUNK AJAR warning is incorrect	Circuitry Luggage compartment lamp Lighting control module (LCM) Luggage compartment lid latch Instrument cluster	GO to PINPOINT TEST E .
The COOLANT OVER TEMPERATURE warning is incorrect	Instrument cluster	OBSERVE the coolant temperature gauge. If the coolant temperature gauge operates correctly, INSTALL a new instrument cluster. REFER to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER . TEST the system for normal operation. If the coolant temperature gauge does not operate correctly, REFER to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER to continue diagnosis of the coolant temperature gauge.
The POWERTRAIN MALFUNCTION (wrench) warning is incorrect	Powertrain system Instrument cluster	Retrieve the recorded PCM DTCs from the continuous and on-demand self-tests. If PCM DTCs are recorded, REFER to the INTRODUCTION - GASOLINE article to continue diagnosis of the DTCs. If no PCM DTCs are recorded, INSTALL a new instrument cluster. REFER to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER . TEST the system for normal operation.
The CHECK FUEL CAP warning is incorrect	Powertrain control module(PCM) Instrument cluster	RETRIEVE the recorded PCM DTCs from the continuous and on-demand self-tests. If PCM DTCs are recorded, REFER to the INTRODUCTION - GASOLINE article to continue diagnosis of the DTCs. If no PCM DTCs are recorded, INSTALL a new instrument cluster. REFER to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER . TEST the system for normal operation.
The LOW FUEL warning is incorrect	Fuel pump gauge sender Instrument cluster	OBSERVE the operation of the fuel gauge. If the fuel gauge operates correctly, INSTALL a new instrument cluster. REFER to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER . TEST the system for normal operation. If the fuel gauge does not operate correctly, REFER to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER to continue diagnosis of the fuel gauge.
The OVERDRIVE (O/D) ON/OFF warning is incorrect	Transmission O/D off function Powertrain control module (PCM) Instrument cluster	RETRIEVE the recorded PCM DTCs from the continuous and on-demand self-tests. If PCM DTCs are recorded, REFER to the INTRODUCTION - GASOLINE article to continue diagnosis of the DTCs. If no PCM DTCs are recorded, INSTALL a new instrument cluster. REFER to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER . TEST the system for normal operation.
The CHECK AIR SUSPENSION warning is incorrect	Circuitry Air suspension module Instrument cluster	VERIFY the air suspension system is operating correctly. If the air suspension is operating correctly, INSTALL a new instrument cluster. REFER to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER . TEST the system for normal operation. If the air suspension system does not operate correctly, REFER to VEHICLE DYNAMIC SUSPENSION to continue diagnosis of the air suspension system.
