Pinpoint Test A: The Ignition Switch Is Inoperative

A1 CHECK THE IGNITION SWITCH FOR VOLTAGE
- Key in OFF position.
- Disconnect: Ignition Switch C250.
- Measure the voltage between ground and:
  - ignition switch C250-8, circuit 1050 (LG/VT), harness side.
  - ignition switch C250-9, circuit 1715 (RD), harness side.

- Are the voltages greater than 10 volts?
Yes : GO to A2.

No : VERIFY BJB fuses 1 (20A) and 2 (25A) are OK. If OK, REPAIR the affected circuit(s) for an open. TEST the system for normal operation.
A2 CHECK THE IGNITION SWITCH
- Carry out the Ignition Switch Component Test. Refer to COMPONENT TESTING .
- Is the ignition switch OK?
Yes : If equipped with passive anti-theft system (PATS) or perimeter alarm, REFER to ANTI-THEFT - PERIMETER . All others, Refer to POWER DISTRIBUTION for schematic and connector information.

No : INSTALL a new ignition switch. REFER to IGNITION SWITCH . TEST the system for normal operation.
