DTC P0A27: (Pcm) Hybrid Battery Power Off Circuit

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2006 Mercury Mariner and 2006 Ford Escape. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
P0A27 (PCM) - HYBRID BATTERY POWER OFF CIRCUIT

Description:  The PCM continuously monitors the battery power off (BPO) circuit and the CAN signal for a BPO request from the TBCM. The PCM sets this DTC when it detects a BPO circuit fault and the CAN signal does not indicate a BPO request.
Possible Causes:
  • BPO circuit open.
  • BPO circuit shorted to PWR or GND.
Diagnostic Aids:  The presence of PCM DTC P0A28 and TBCM DTC P0A27 indicates the BPO request, not a circuit failure.
