Front Axle: Installation

  1. To install, reverse removal procedure. Install axle and finger tighten NEW pivot bolt and nut. Install and finger tighten NEW radius arm-to-axle bolt and nut. Install NEW radius arm-to-frame bracket pivot bolt and nut. Tighten radius arm-to-axle nut to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Install NEW tie rod and lower ball joint cotter pins.
  2. Install remaining components. Tighten pivot bolt and radius arm-to-axle bolts and nuts to specification with vehicle at normal operating height. Tighten bolts and nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Check wheel alignment. See SUSPENSION SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION .
