Pinpoint Test E: The Control Illumination Is Always On: Testing

- E1 CHECK THE EXTERIOR LIGHTING
- Key in OFF position.
- Observe the exterior lighting components.
- Are any exterior lighting components illuminated?
- Yes : REFER to EXTERIOR LIGHTING to continue diagnosis of the exterior lighting.
- No : GO to E2.
- E2 CHECK THE SJB
- Disconnect: Smart Junction Box (SJB) C2280d.
- Do the dimmable backlighted components continue to illuminate?
- Yes : REPAIR circuit 1417 (LG/RD) or circuit 1418 (LB/WH) as necessary. TEST the system for normal operation.
- No : GO to E3.
- E3 CHECK FOR CORRECT SJB OPERATION
- Disconnect all the SJB connectors.
- Check for:
- corrosion
- pushed-out pins
- Connect all the SJB connectors and make sure they seat correctly.
- Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.
- Is the concern still present?
- Yes : INSTALL a new SJB. REFER to MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC MODULES . TEST the system for normal operation.
- No : The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector.
