Pinpoint Test Y: An Individual Reversing Lamp Is Inoperative: Testing

- Y1 CHECK THE STOPLAMP OPERATION
- Key in OFF position.
- Apply and release the brake pedal while observing the rear lamps.
- Do the stoplamps operate correctly?
- Yes : REMOVE the jumper wire. GO to Y2.
- No : REFER to STOPLAMPS to continue diagnosis of the inoperative stoplamp.
- Y2 CHECK CIRCUIT 1367 (WH/YE) FOR AN OPEN
- Apply the parking brake.
- Key in ON position.
- Select REVERSE.
- Measure the voltage between the LH rear lamp assembly C414-1, circuit 1367 (WH/YE), harness side and ground; or between the RH rear lamp assembly C417-1, circuit 1367 (WH/YE), harness side and ground.
- Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?
- Yes : REPAIR or INSTALL a new rear lamp jumper harness. TEST the system for normal operation.
- No : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
