Pinpoint Test Aw: The Service Steering Message Is Inoperative/Always On

  1. AW1 CHECK THE MESSAGE CENTER DISPLAY OPERATION 
    • Close all doors and the luggage compartment lid.
    • Ignition ON.
    • Open the driver door and observe the message center.
    • Does the message center display DRIVER DOOR AJAR? 
    • Yes  : GO to AW2.
    • No  : INSTALL a new IPC  . REFER to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC)  in this service information. TEST the system for normal operation.
  2. AW2 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE IPC SELF-TEST 
    • Check for recorded DTCs from the IPC  self-test.
    • Is DTC U0131:00 recorded? 
  3. AW3 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE PSCM SELF-TEST 
    • Check for recorded DTCs from the PSCM self-test.
    • Are any DTCs recorded?
