DTC P0507: Idle Air Control System Rpm Higher Than Expected

P0507 - IDLE AIR CONTROL SYSTEM RPM HIGHER THAN EXPECTED

Description:  This DTC sets when the powertrain control module (PCM) detects actual engine speed that is greater than the desired RPM.
Possible Causes: 
  • Air leaks after the mass air flow (MAF) sensor
  • Vacuum leaks
  • Exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve leaks vacuum
Diagnostic Aids:  This DTC is informational only and it may be accompanied by other DTCs. Diagnose other DTCs first. If other DTCs are not present, inspect the entire intake air system for restrictions. Repair as necessary. If no restrictions are found, clear the DTCs.
