All vehicles

With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
Drain the Power Transfer Unit (PTU). For additional information, refer to POWER TRANSFER UNIT (PTU) DRAINING AND FILLING .
Remove the front RH intermediate shaft. For additional information, refer to HALFSHAFT .
Remove the driveshaft. For additional information, refer to DRIVESHAFT .
Remove the 4 bolts and the crossmember brace.

Vehicles equipped with 3.0L
Remove the catalytic converter - 3.0L manifold. For additional information, refer to CATALYTIC CONVERTER -- 3.0L LH MANIFOLD .
All vehicles
Remove the 3 PTU heat shield bolts and the PTU heat shield.
Vehicles equipped with 2.5L and hybrid
Remove the 2 exhaust bracket nuts.
Hybrid vehicles
Remove the 2 bolts and the exhaust bracket.
All vehicles
Remove the 6 PTU -to-engine bracket bolts and the bracket.
Disconnect the PTU vent tube and position it aside.
Remove the 4 PTU -to-transaxle bolts.
Remove the PTU .
