Transmission Fluid Cooler Tubes - TorqShift: Removal

All vehicles 

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING AND LIFTING article.
  2. Remove the push pin retainers and the splash shield.

  4. Remove the screws and the lower air deflector.

    Diesel engine vehicles 

  6. Remove the transmission fluid cooler tubes from the transmission case.

    Gas engine vehicles 

  8. Remove the transmission fluid cooler tubes from the transmission case.

  10. Remove the secondary latch from the transmission fluid cooler hose.

  12. Using the special tool, disconnect the transmission fluid cooler hose.

  14. Disconnect the transmission fluid cooler hose from the radiator in-tank.

    Diesel engine vehicles 

  16. Remove the transmission fluid cooler tube rear bracket.

  18. Disconnect the transmission fluid cooler hose from the radiator fitting.

  20. Disconnect the transmission fluid cooler hose from the transmission fluid cooler tube.

  22. Remove the nut, the transmission fluid cooler tube bracket and the transmission fluid cooler tubes from the vehicle.

    Gas engine vehicles 

  24. Remove the nut for the transmission fluid cooler tubes and starter motor electrical harness front bracket, and move the bracket aside.

  26. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES article.
  27. Remove the starter motor solenoid terminal cover.

  29. Disconnect the starter motor electrical connections.

  31. Disconnect the starter motor electrical harness push pin, and move the harness to the front of the vehicle.

  33. Remove the transmission fluid cooler tubes from the vehicle.
