Crankshaft Pulley: Installation

All vehicles 

    NOTE: To prevent engine damage, always install 4 new bolts when installing the vibration damper.
    NOTE: Do not use anti-seize compounds, grease or any lubricants. Lubricants have an adverse effect on the torque results.
  1. Position the crankshaft pulley and install 4 new bolts in 2 stages, in the sequence shown.
    • Stage 1: Tighten to 68 Nm (50 lb-ft).
    • Stage 2: Tighten an additional 90 degrees.

  3. Rotate the belt tensioner clockwise and install the accessory drive belt onto the crankshaft pulley.

    Vehicles with dual generator 

  5. Install the dual generator pulley and the 3 bolts.
    • Tighten to 47 Nm (35 lb-ft).
  6. Rotate the belt tensioner clockwise and install the dual generator accessory drive belt onto the dual generator pulley.

    All vehicles 

  8. Install the cooling fan stator. For additional information, refer to ENGINE COOLING article.
  9. Connect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES article.
