  • INSTALL a new audio unit. REFER to Audio Unit . TEST the system for normal operation.

  • RDS function setting
  • VERIFY the RDS is set to ALL. REFER to the Owner's Literature. SCAN for a good channel.
    • If a good channel is found, the cause of the concern was that no RDS channel in the selected category was found. The system is OK.

  • INSTALL a new audio unit. REFER to Audio Unit . TEST the system for normal operation.

  • With the key in any position except START, MEASURE the voltage between the audio unit C240-3, circuit 1000 (RD/BK), harness side and ground.
    • If voltage is present, REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
    • If no voltage is present, INSTALL a new audio unit. REFER to Audio Unit . TEST the system for normal operation.
  • Loud popping sound when cycling the ignition switch

  • Wiring, terminals or connectors

  • With the key in START, MEASURE the voltage between the audio unit C240-3, circuit 1000 (RD/BK), harness side and ground.
    • If the voltage is less than 10 volts, CHECK the central junction box (CJB) fuse 27 (5A). If OK, REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
    • If the voltage is 10 volts or greater, INSTALL a new audio unit. REFER to Audio Unit . TEST the system for normal operation.
