Removal And Installation

- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING AND LIFTING article.
- Support the muffler and tailpipe assembly with a safety stand.
- Release all the muffler and tailpipe assembly hanger isolators.
- Loosen the muffler Torca® clamp.
- To install, tighten to 55 Nm (41 lb-ft).
- If equipped with a tailpipe extension, loosen the tailpipe extension Torca® clamp and remove the tailpipe extension from vehicle.
- To install, tighten to 55 Nm (41 lb-ft).
- Remove the RH rear upper shock absorber nut.
- To install, tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).
- Remove the RH rear lower shock absorber nut and the shock absorber.
- To install, tighten to 80 Nm (59 lb-ft).
- Remove the muffler and tailpipe from the catalytic converter or, if equipped, the extension pipe.
- Remove the muffler and tailpipe assembly.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- If a new Torca® clamp needs to be installed, install the new Torca® in the same orientation as the original.
