Removal and Installation

  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY MOUNTING AND CABLES .
  2. Remove the throttle body snow shield.
    • Remove the retaining screw.
    • Detach the emission tube retainer from the snow shield.
    • Remove the snow shield.
  3. Disconnect the idle air control (IAC) valve electrical connector.
  4. Remove the 2 IAC valve retaining screws and the IAC valve.
    • To install, tighten to 4 Nm (35 lb-in).
    5. NOTE: Install a new IAC valve gasket.
  5. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
