Crankshaft Rear Seal with Retainer Plate: Removal
- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING AND LIFTING .
- Remove the flywheel or flexplate. For additional information, refer to FLYWHEEL or FLEXPLATE in this article.
- Remove the oil level indicator and tube. For additional information, refer to OIL LEVEL INDICATOR AND TUBE in this article.
- Remove the 17 bolts and the oil pan.
- Remove the 6 bolts and the crankshaft rear oil seal with retainer plate.
CAUTION:
If the oil pan is not removed damage to the rear oil seal retainer joint can occur.
