Removal and Installation

All vehicles

Drain the cooling system. For additional information, refer to ENGINE COOLING .
Remove the battery tray. For additional information, refer to BATTERY MOUNTING AND CABLES .
Loosen the clamps, disconnect the vent tube and remove the air cleaner outlet pipe.
- To install, tighten to 4 Nm (35 lb-in).

Disconnect the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve electrical connector.

2.0L engines

If equipped, disconnect and position the secondary air injection (AIR) valve inlet hose aside.

All vehicles

Disconnect the EGR valve coolant hose.
Remove the 2 bolts and the EGR valve.
- To install, tighten to 20 Nm (15 lb-ft).

NOTE: Clean and inspect the gasket mating surfaces.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
Fill and bleed the cooling system. For additional information, refer to ENGINE COOLING .
