Normal Operation

For vehicles with automatic transmissions, vehicle speed information is sent to the powertrain control module (PCM) from the output shaft speed (OSS) sensor over the communication network. For vehicles with manual transmissions, this information is sent to the PCM from the vehicle speed sensor (VSS).
