Pinpoint Test H: The Instrument Panel Illumination Does Not Dim

  1. H1 CHECK THE INSTRUMENT PANEL ILLUMINATION 
    • With the parking lamps ON, rotate the instrument panel dimmer switch to the full illumination position.
    • Do the audio unit, climate control unit, and instrument cluster backlights illuminate? 

    Yes  : GO to H2.

    No  : GO to PINPOINT TEST A .

  2. H2 CHECK CIRCUIT 29S-DA2 (OG/BU) FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE 
    • Key in OFF position.
    • Disconnect: Headlamp Switch C205.
    • Key in ON position.
    • Are the backlighting components illuminated? 

    Yes  : REPAIR circuit 29S-DA2 (OG/BU). TEST the system for normal operation.

    No  : INSTALL a new headlamp switch. REFER to EXTERIOR LIGHTING . TEST the system for normal operation.
