Removal and Installation
CAUTION:
The antenna lead-in cable is not removable from the wiring harness. If a new lead-in cable is being installed, leave it in the wiring harness. Install a new cable on top of the instrument panel wiring harness and secure it with wire ties. Do not cut into the wiring harness to remove the existing antenna lead-in cable. Tie back or insulate the old cable ends to keep them from causing noise.
- Remove the antenna base. For additional information, refer to ANTENNA BASE .
- Remove both A-pillar trim panels. For additional information, refer to INTERIOR TRIM AND ORNAMENTATION .
- Remove the 4 screws and the sun visors.NOTE: LH shown, RH similar.
- Remove the sun visor catch clips.
- Open the tabs.
- Remove the 2 screws.NOTE: LH shown, RH similar.
- Open the covers on the passenger assist handles.
- Using a suitable 6-mm flat-bladed screwdriver, remove the passenger assist handles.
- Rotate the screwdriver 90 degrees counterclockwise to release the retaining clips.
- Carefully lower the front edge of the headliner to allow access to the antenna cable.
- Remove the antenna cable/base screw.
- Disconnect the upper antenna cable from the clips and remove it.NOTE: Headliner shown removed for clarity.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
