Parking Brake

The parking brake system consists of the following components:

• Parking brake control
• Front parking brake cable
• Parking brake cable equalizer
• Rear parking brake cables
• Rear disc brake
• Rear drum brake

The parking brake system is cable operated and controlled by an independent hand-operated parking brake control.

The parking brake system operates the rear drum or rear disc brake system as follows:

• On vehicles with rear brake drums, an independent hand-operated parking brake control lever actuates the rear brake shoes directly through a cable system.
• On vehicles with rear brake discs, an independent hand-operated parking brake control lever actuates a parking brake control lever which is integral to the rear caliper.
