Removal and Installation

WARNING: Use of any other than approved DOT 3 brake fluid will cause permanent damage to brake components and will render the brakes inoperative. Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal injury.

CAUTION: Brake fluid is harmful to painted and plastic surfaces. If brake fluid is spilled onto a painted or plastic surface, immediately wash it with water.

With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING AND LIFTING .
Remove the park brake cable from the brake caliper.
1. Pull back the parking brake lever.
2. Disconnect the cable from the parking brake lever.
3. Remove the cable conduit retaining clip.
4. Remove the park brake cable from the brake caliper.

Remove the 2 brake caliper bolts.
- To install, tighten to 35 Nm (26 lb-ft).

CAUTION: Cap the brake hose to prevent fluid loss and dirt contamination.

Disconnect the brake hose fitting.
- To install, tighten to 15 Nm (11 lb-ft).
Remove the brake caliper.
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
