Pinpoint Test B: A Single Window Is Inoperative - Front And Rear Power Windows - Driver Window
- B1 CHECK CIRCUIT 15-AJ7 (GN/BU) FOR AN OPEN
- Key in ON position.
- Operate the passenger window down and up from the driver window control switch.
- Does the passenger window operate from the driver window control switch?
Yes : GO to B2.
No : VERIFY the CJB fuse 55 (25A) is OK. If OK, REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
- B2 CHECK THE ONE-TOUCH DOWN RELAY
- Operate the driver window control switch to the first detent in the down position.
- Does the one-touch down relay click?
Yes : GO to B3.
No : GO to B6.
- B3 CHECK FOR VOLTAGE TO THE DRIVER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR DOWN CIRCUIT
- Key in OFF position.
- Disconnect: Driver Window Regulator Motor C518.
- Key in ON position.
- Operate the driver window control switch to the first detent in the down position.
- Measure the voltage between the driver window regulator motor C518-2, circuit 32-AJ26 (WH), harness side and ground.
- Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?
Yes : GO to B4.
No : GO to B8.
- B4 CHECK CIRCUIT 33-AJ26 (YE) FOR AN OPEN
- Operate the driver window control switch to the up position.
- Measure the voltage between the driver window regulator motor C518-1, circuit 33-AJ26 (YE), harness side and ground.
- Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?
Yes : GO to B5.
No : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
- B5 CHECK FOR CONTINUITY BETWEEN THE DRIVER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR AND GROUND
- Key in OFF position.
- Measure the resistance between the driver window regulator motor C518-2, circuit 32-AJ26 (WH), harness side and ground.
- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
Yes : INSTALL a new driver window regulator motor. REFER to WINDOW REGULATOR AND MOTOR - FRONT DOOR in this article. TEST the system for normal operation.
No : INSTALL a new one-touch down relay. TEST the system for normal operation.
- B6 CHECK CIRCUIT 15S-AJ40 (GN/BK) FOR AN OPEN OR A SHORT TO GROUND
- Disconnect: Driver Window Control Switch C504b.
- Measure the resistance between the driver window control switch C504b-11, circuit 15S-AJ40 (GN/BK), harness side and the one-touch down relay C546-3, circuit 15S-AJ40 (GN/BK), harness side; and between the driver window control switch C504b-11, circuit 15S-AJ40 (GN/BK), harness side and ground.
- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms between the driver window control switch and the one-touch down relay, and greater than 10,000 ohms between the driver window control switch and ground?
Yes : GO to B7.
No : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
- B7 CHECK CIRCUIT 31-AJ15 (BK) FOR AN OPEN
- Key in OFF position.
- Measure the resistance between the one-touch down relay C546-1, circuit 31-AJ15 (BK), harness side and ground.
- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
Yes : INSTALL a new one-touch down relay. TEST the system for normal operation.
No : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
- B8 CHECK CIRCUIT 15-AJ15 (GN/BK) FOR AN OPEN
- Disconnect: One-Touch Down Relay C546.
- Measure the voltage between the one-touch down relay C546-2, circuit 15-AJ15 (GN/BK), harness side and ground.
- Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?
Yes : GO to B9.
No : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
- B9 CHECK CIRCUIT 32-AJ26 (WH) FOR AN OPEN
- Key in OFF position.
- Measure the resistance between the one-touch down relay C546-5, circuit 32-AJ26 (WH), harness side and the driver window regulator motor C518-2, circuit 32-AJ26 (WH), harness side.
- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
Yes : INSTALL a new one-touch down relay. TEST the system for normal operation.
No : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
