Removal and Installation

Remove the 4 rear bumper cover upper pin-type retainers.
Remove the loadspace side trim panel inserts.
Remove the rear bumper cover nut on both sides.
- To install, tighten to 5 Nm (44 lb-in).

With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING AND LIFTING .

NOTE: Install new pin-type retainers during assembly.

Remove and discard the 2 pin-type retainers (1 each side) and position the splash shield aside.
Remove the 2 rear bumper cover nuts (1 each side).
- To install, tighten to 5 Nm (44 lb-in).

Remove the 2 rear bumper cover lower pin-type retainers.
Remove the 2 rear bumper cover out board pin-type retainers.

CAUTION: The bumper ends must be pulled away from the fenders to prevent damage to the paintwork.

Remove the rear bumper cover.
- Release the clips.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
