Removal and Installation

    All vehicles 

  1. Remove the liftgate trim panel. For additional information, refer to INTERIOR TRIM AND ORNAMENTATION .
  2. Disconnect and detach the liftgate latch electrical connector.

    3. Wagon 

  3. Detach the liftgate latch actuating cable from the retaining clips.
  4. Disconnect the liftgate latch actuating cable from the liftgate lock assembly.

    5. All vehicles 

  5. Remove the 2 screws and the liftgate latch.
    • To install, tighten to 8 Nm (71 lb-in).

    6. 3-door and 5-door 

  6. If a new liftgate latch is being installed, for additional information, refer to LIFTGATE LOCK CYLINDER  in this article.
  7. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
