Removal and Installation

  1. Release the parking brake.
  2. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING AND LIFTING .
  3. Remove the parking brake cable from the brake caliper.
    1. Pull back the parking brake lever.
    2. Disconnect the cable from the parking brake lever.
    3. Remove the cable conduit retaining clip.
    4. Remove the cable from the brake caliper.

  4. CAUTION: Do not allow the brake caliper to hang from the hose or damage to the hose can occur.
  5. Remove the 2 brake caliper anchor plate bolts. Position the anchor plate and brake caliper aside as an assembly.
    • Support the assembly with mechanic's wire.
    • To install, tighten to 55 Nm (41 lb-ft).
  6. Remove the brake disc.
    • If equipped, remove the retaining clip.
  7. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
