Removal and Installation

Remove the 4 screws, release the fastener and position the instrument panel lower panel aside.
- To install, tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).
Disconnect the hood release cable and the data link connector (DLC) from the instrument panel lower panel and remove the lower panel.
- Loosen the hood release cable nut.
- To install, tighten to 20 Nm (15 lb-ft).
Disconnect the electrical connectors and twist to remove the following switches:
- Speed control deactivation switch (if equipped)
- Stop lamp switch
- Clutch position switch (if equipped)

CAUTION: Install a new brake booster actuating rod pin.

Remove the brake booster actuating rod from the brake pedal.
1. Apply the brake pedal.
2. Disengage the tab.
3. Remove and discard the brake booster actuating rod pin.

Remove the brake pedal.
- Remove the brake pedal shaft nut.
  - To install, tighten to 20 Nm (15 lb-ft).
- Disconnect the clutch pedal return spring (manual transaxle vehicles).
- Slide the pedal shaft right and remove the brake pedal.
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
