DTC P0297: Vehicle Over Speed Condition

P0297 - VEHICLE OVER SPEED CONDITION

Description:  Indicates the vehicle has been operated in a manner which caused the vehicle speed to exceed a calibration limit. The vehicle speed is continuously monitored and evaluated by the powertrain control module (PCM). The DTC is set when the vehicle speed exceeds the calibrated limit set within the PCM. For additional information on the vehicle speed limiter, refer to POWERTRAIN CONTROL SOFTWARE .
Possible Causes: 
  • Vehicle driven at a high rate of speed
Diagnostic Aids:  The DTC indicates the vehicle has been operated in a manner which caused the engine speed to exceed a calibrated limit.
Application  Key On Engine Off  Key On Engine Running  Continuous Memory 
All - - GO to Pinpoint Test ND .
