All vehicles 

• 1.
  
  With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .

• 2.
  
  Release the fuel system pressure. For additional information, refer to FUEL SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION .

• 3.
  
  Remove the battery tray. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .

• 4.
  
  Remove the air cleaner outlet pipe and air cleaner. For additional information, refer to INTAKE AIR DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM & FILTERING SYSTEM - 3.0L (4V) .

• 5.
  
  Disconnect the power steering pressure (PSP) switch electrical connector.
  • Remove the nut and detach the ground wire and PSP hose bracket.

• 6.
  
  Remove the lower radiator air deflectors.

  Remove the exhaust system flexpipe. For additional information, refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM .

  Remove the generator. For additional information, refer to CHARGING SYSTEM - GENERATORS AND REGULATORS .

• 9.
  
  Remove the accessory drive belt from the remaining pulleys and the engine.

• 10.
  
  Remove the LH halfshaft. For additional information, refer to FRONT DRIVE HALFSHAFTS .

• 11.
  
  Drain the engine coolant. For additional information, refer to ENGINE COOLING - (EXCEPT HYBRID) .

• 12.
  
  Drain the engine oil and install the drain plug.
  • Tighten to 26 Nm (19 lb-ft).

• 13.
  
  Disconnect the A/C clutch electrical connector.

  Remove the bolts and position the A/C compressor aside.

  Remove the nut and the power steering pump pulley.

NOTE: The bolt positioned behind the power steering pressure (PSP) tube will remain in the pump housing.

  Remove the power steering pump bolts and position the pump aside.

  Remove the 4 bolts and the lateral support crossmember.

  Remove the front roll restrictor bolt and the 2 bolts for the engine support crossmember.

  Remove the rear nut and the engine support crossmember.
  • Discard the nut.

  Disconnect the 2 transmission cooler tubes.

  Detach the wiring harness pin-type retainer from the gearshift cable bracket.

  Disconnect the differential pressure feedback EGR sensor electrical connector and detach the pin-type retainer.

  Disconnect the EGR tube fitting and remove the EGR tube and the differential pressure feedback EGR sensor as an assembly.

  Disconnect the evaporative emissions canister purge valve vacuum tube from the intake manifold.
  • Detach the vacuum tube retainer from the transmission fill tube.
