Valve Cover RH: Removal

NOTE: During engine repair procedures, cleanliness is extremely important. Any foreign material, including any material created while cleaning gasket surfaces that enters the oil passages, coolant passages or the oil pan, can cause engine failure.

1.

Remove the Air Cleaner (ACL) outlet pipe. For additional information, refer to INTAKE AIR DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM & FILTERING SYSTEM - 3.0L (4V) .

2.

Remove the upper intake manifold. For additional information, refer to Upper Intake Manifold .

3.

Remove the RH ignition coil-on-plugs. For additional information, refer to ENGINE IGNITION - 3.0L (4V) .

4.

Disconnect the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) valve electrical connector.

5.

Disconnect the PCV tube from the PCV valve and position it aside.

6.

Disconnect the radio ignition interference capacitor electrical connector and detach the 3 wiring retainers from the stud bolts.

7.

Remove the nut and the radio ignition interference capacitor.

8.

Remove the 2 nuts and position the engine control harness aside.

9.

Remove the bolt, 9 stud bolts and the valve cover.
- Remove and discard the gasket.
