Pinpoint Test D: All The Chimes Are Inoperative

- D1 CHECK THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER GAUGE SWEEP
- Carry out the instrument cluster self-test to sweep the instrument cluster gauges. Refer to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER article.
- Observe the instrument cluster gauges during the sweep gauges self-test.
- Does the instrument cluster sweep all the gauges during the self-test?
- YES : Go to D2.
- NO : REFER to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER article.
- D2 CHECK FOR CORRECT INSTRUMENT CLUSTER OPERATION
- Disconnect all the instrument cluster connectors.
- Check for:
- corrosion
- damaged pins
- pushed-out pins
- Connect all the instrument cluster connectors and make sure they seat correctly.
- Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.
- Is the concern still present?
- YES : INSTALL a new instrument cluster. REFER to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER article. TEST the system for normal operation.
- NO : The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector.
