Removal and Installation

Remove the brake master cylinder. For additional information, refer to BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER .
Disconnect the brake booster vacuum hose from the brake booster vacuum check valve.

NOTE: Do not apply the brake pedal during the removal or installation of the stop lamp switch.

Disconnect the electrical connector and remove the stop lamp switch.

NOTE: Do not apply the brake pedal during the removal or installation of the speed deactivation switch.

Disconnect the electrical connector and remove the speed deactivation switch.
Remove the redundant self-locking pin cover, self-locking pin and the booster rod pin.
Remove the 4 brake booster nuts.
- To install, tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).
Remove the brake booster assembly from the vehicle.
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
