Removal and Installation

  1. Remove the brake master cylinder. For additional information, refer to HYDRAULIC BRAKE ACTUATION .
  2. Disconnect the speed control and the accelerator cables from the throttle body.

  3. Disconnect the wiring harness retaining bracket from the throttle body.
  4. Remove the accelerator cable bracket nut and bolt and position the speed control and the accelerator cable bracket aside.
    • To install, tighten to 15 Nm (11 lb-ft).

  5. Remove the 2 bolts from the speed control actuator.
    • To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).

  6. Disconnect the brake booster vacuum hose from the brake booster vacuum check valve.
  7. Remove the redundant self-locking clip cover and the self-locking clip from the brake pedal.
  8. Remove the brake pedal position switch, booster rod and bushing from the brake pedal.
  9. Remove the 4 brake booster nuts.
    • To install, tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).
  10. Remove the brake booster from the vehicle.
  11. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
