Brake Booster
The brake booster:
- is a dual-diaphragm, vacuum-assisted brake booster.
- reduces brake pedal pressure and travel distance.
- is divided into separate vacuum and atmospheric chambers by the diaphragms.
The brake booster check valve:
- is located on the front of the brake booster.
- is positioned between the brake booster and the brake booster vacuum hose.
- closes when the engine is turned off.
- traps engine vacuum in the brake booster when in the closed position.
- retains vacuum to provide several assisted brake applications with the engine off.
