Pinpoint Test Q: The RH Turn Signal Indicator Is Never/Always On
- Q1 VERIFY THE TURN SIGNAL OPERATION
- Key in ON position.
- Verify the exterior turn signal operation.
- Do the exterior turn signals operate correctly?
- Q2 DETERMINE THE CONDITION
- Observe the RH turn signal operation.
- Is the RH turn signal inoperative?
- Yes
: GO to Q3.
- No
: If the RH turn signal indicator is always on, GO to Q5.
- Q3 CHECK CIRCUIT 49S-LG22 (BU/YE) FOR VOLTAGE
- Key in OFF position.
- Disconnect: Instrument Cluster C2220.
- Key in ON position.
- Place the multifunction switch in the RH turn signal position.
- Measure the voltage between the instrument cluster C2220 pin 10, circuit 49S-LG22 (BU/YE), harness side and ground.

- Does the voltage fluctuate between 0 and greater than 10 volts?
- Yes
: GO to Q7.
- No
: GO to Q4.
- Q4 CHECK CIRCUIT 49S-LG22 (BU/YE) FOR AN OPEN OR SHORT TO GROUND
- Key in OFF position.
- Disconnect: Generic Electronic Module (GEM) C201d.
- Measure the resistance between the instrument cluster C2220 pin 10, circuit 49S-LG22 (BU/YE), harness side and the GEM C201d pin 2, circuit 49S-LG22 (BU/YE), harness side; and between the instrument cluster C2220 pin 10, circuit 49S-LG22 (BU/YE), harness side and ground.

- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms between the instrument cluster and the GEM, and greater than 10,000 ohms between the instrument cluster and ground?
- Yes
: GO to Q8.
- No
: REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
- Q5 CHECK CIRCUIT 49S-LG22 (BU/YE) FOR A SHORT TO POWER
- Key in OFF position.
- Disconnect: Instrument Cluster C2220.
- Key in ON position.
- Measure the voltage between the instrument cluster C2220 pin 10, circuit 49S-LG22 (BU/YE), harness side and ground.

- Is any voltage present?
- Yes
: GO to Q6.
- No
: GO to Q7.
- Q6 CHECK CIRCUIT 49S-LG22 (BU/YE) FOR A SHORT
- Key in OFF position.
- Disconnect: Instrument Cluster C2220.
- Disconnect: GEM C201d.
- Key in ON position.
- Measure the voltage between the instrument cluster C2220 pin 10, circuit 49S-LG22 (BU/YE), harness side and ground.

- Is any voltage present?
- Yes
: REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
- No
: GO to Q8.
- Q7 CHECK FOR CORRECT INSTRUMENT CLUSTER OPERATION
- Disconnect the instrument cluster connector.
- Check for:
- Corrosion
- Pushed-out pins
- Connect the instrument cluster connector and make sure it seats correctly.
- Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.
- Is the concern still present?
- Yes
: INSTALL a new instrument cluster. REFER to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER . TEST the system for normal operation.
- No
: The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation.
- Q8 CHECK FOR CORRECT GEM OPERATION
- Disconnect all the GEM connectors.
- Check for:
- Corrosion
- Pushed-out pins
- Connect all the GEM connectors and make sure they seat correctly.
- Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.
- Is the concern still present?
- Yes
: INSTALL a new GEM. REFER to MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC MODULES
. TEST the system for normal operation.
- No
: The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation.
