Removal and Installation

  1. Remove the upper pin-type retainers.

  2. Position the loadspace side trim panel inserts aside.

  3. Remove the bumper side retaining nut on both sides.

  4. Raise and support the vehicle. For additional information, refer to JACKING AND LIFTING .
    5. NOTE: Install new pin-type retainers during assembly.

  5. Remove and discard the 2 pin-type retainers (1 each side) and position the splash shield aside.
  6. Remove the 2 nuts (1 each side).

  7. Remove the lower pin-type retainers.

  8. Remove the 2 side support bracket pin-type retainers.

  9. Lower the vehicle.
    10. CAUTION: The bumper ends must be pulled away from the fenders to prevent damage to the paint work.

  10. Remove the rear bumper cover.
    • Release the clips.
  11. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
