Hinge Adjustment - Rear

Multi-Purpose Grease Spray XL-5 ESB-M1C39-B
NOTE: To correctly align the doors, adjust the hinges and the door latch striker plates. Adjusting the hinge affects the positioning of the outside surface of the door frame. Adjusting the door latch striker plate affects the alignment of the door relative to the weatherstrip and the door closing characteristics.
NOTE: If the door will not align correctly, carry out an underbody misalignment check. For additional information, refer to UNI-BODY, SUBFRAME AND MOUNTING SYSTEM .
NOTE: The door should be adjusted for even and parallel fit with the body opening and the surrounding panels.
NOTE: Check the front door hinge adjustment before adjusting the front door hinge.
  1. Mark the position of the rear door hinges to use as a reference point.

  2. Loosen the rear door hinge-to-body bolts.

  3. Adjust the rear door alignment to the specifications.

  4. Tighten the rear door hinge-to-body bolts.
