Door Ajar Indicator Lamp and Chime

The door ajar indicator and chime feature is controlled by the generic electronic module (GEM). The driver and passenger door ajar switches (and liftgate-wagon only) are hard-wired to the GEM. If any door is sensed open, the instrument cluster will process the input, turn on the indicator and send a tone request signal to the GEM which sounds the chime.
