Engine Mounts: Installation

- Position the RH engine mount and install the 4 bolts.
- Tighten to 63 Nm (46 lb-ft).
- Position the LH engine mount and install the 4 bolts.
- Tighten to 63 Nm (46 lb-ft).
- Lower the engine into position.
- Install the 4 engine mount nuts.
- Tighten to 103 Nm (76 lb-ft).
- Install the transmission mount-to-crossmember nuts.
- Tighten to 103 Nm (76 lb-ft).
- Position the Y-pipe and install the 4 nuts.
- Tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).
- Remove the special tools.
- If installing the RH engine mount, install the starter. For additional information, refer to STARTING SYSTEM - GASOLINE ENGINES .
- Install the upper cooling fan shroud. For additional information, refer to ENGINE COOLING .
- Install the generator. For additional information, refer to GENERATOR AND REGULATOR .
- Install the throttle body spacer. For additional information, refer to FUEL CHARGING AND CONTROLS - 6.8L (3V) .
- Install the air cleaner outlet pipe. For additional information, refer to INTAKE AIR DISTRIBUTION AND FILTERING .
- Connect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
RH engine mount
CAUTION:
Clean the engine mount-to-chassis mating surfaces of any dirt or foreign material prior to installation.
LH engine mount
CAUTION:
Clean the engine mount-to-oil filter adapter and engine mount-to-chassis mating surfaces of any dirt or foreign material prior to installation.
All vehicles
CAUTION:
Only use hand tools when installing the RH engine mount nut or damage to the engine mount can occur.
